Hello! My name is Alex Keith. I am a recent graduate from California State University Sacramento where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design. Inspired by the past masters with one foot reaching toward the future, I am not afraid to experiment, think outside the box, push boundaries, and combine the analog and digital worlds. Design is thinking, or thought visualized. I am constantly absorbing the world around me, re-interpreting and re-imagining it, and strive to use my accumulated knowledge and how I see that world to arrive at new innovative solutions to problems at the appropriate level of abstraction with a focus on systems-thinking.
The more I study design, the more I feel it is equal parts art and science, concerning psychology, marketing, communication and human perception. A wise professor one told me, "Subtract till it hurts". The simplest solution is often the most difficult to obtain, but is often the most elegant, effective, and aesthetically pleasing. Minimalism without laziness.
Drawing from such varied passions as music, the outdoors, photography, history, and science, I seek to create pieces that elicit a response, resonate, and make the viewer feel something and come in for a closer look. I look forward to developing timeless, iconic visual solutions to your problem. Contact me to learn more.
